Associate Professor at University of Milan, I teach Film History and Criticism and Cinema and Cultural Studies at University of Milan. I have authored seven books, forty articles and more than thirty conference presentations. I’m the PI of the Research Project of National Interest (PRIN 2022) Cinema and the LGBTQ+ movements, from the first traces to institutionalization (1945-1989) funded by the Italian Ministry of University. and Research.

Sexuality as a privileged perspective to rethink film history, how it has been conceived and the cultural practices connected to both art and popular films, to the extreme of pornography.
A hidden history involving any aspect of cinematic institution, from industry to audience, criticism, stardom, with fallouts on dominant knowledge, popular culture and media representations.
Hitchcock's work on gender and sexuality not only is open to always new dissections, but has had an enormous influence: studying both means to have a privileged viewpoint on the great part of film culture.
FILM CRITICISM AND HISTORIOGRAPHY
A consideration of both academic historiography and a criticism marginal in terms of ideological extremism, limited circulation and the social position of targeted readers, as a way to discuss forms and meaning of studying cinema.
